Wonderful Person
Wonderful Person thumbnail
Wonderful Person Gaunt, cold, and time-worn: the atmosphere on this album complements the cover art perfectly. Pristine vocals and well thought-out harmonies all over this thing, all while avoiding the melodramatic tendencies this vein of doom often falls prey to. Happy to have stumbled upon this. Favorite track: In Eclipse.
Obstacle of Affliction
Obstacle of Affliction thumbnail
Obstacle of Affliction After seeing this on several best of lists for 2020, Deathwhite has been my favorite discovery at the end of the year. I completely adore this release and this young band. I hope to hear many more releases in the future.
So fucking good! Favorite track: Plague of Virtue.

Piper Haqim Imagine if Katatonia, Rapture (Fin) and The Foreshadowing had a three-way and one of them had a baby. Melodic, ominous, unrelenting and just beautiful from beginning to end. Favorite track: Return to Silence.

1.
I was led Through this path Weary and long Towards the abyss In here The air is thin Nothing lives No one was there Breathe Try to reach out In this hour Funeral ground Breathe Unseen now Time of dying Funeral ground In time Thoughts corrode Turn into haze Surrounded by dusk I see Foreboding walls Four corners All there is
2.
In Eclipse 04:46
From the sky It came down Blinding light To earth To which they bow Before thee To which they claim A savior Fall to your knees And weep The savior is reborn Now see Upon black waters Above the tide he walks Upon black waters All doubt in eclipse Kiss the ground And praise Are you still empty? Are you afraid?
3.
White walls Their eyes Follow across the room I cannot seem to look The shame is too much For me to bear Here I found peace Then it became My grave Its wealth made me poor My name now vanquished In decay True salvation Is now even further From me And this salvation is now Even further From me
4.
Grave Image 04:50
To stand at the world’s edge To see what is coming To see the mirror The reflection is true A reason to believe No illusion in front of me This grave image Of pestilence The weight falls upon me Can you shield the pain? No illusion in front of me This grave image Of pestilence No illusion in front of me This grave image Of pestilence No illusion Came before me
5.
Among Us 04:10
Man brought to his knees Now victim Like the others Pride in heresy It couldn’t save him From truth No more Among us Death walks the earth Among us Wait to perish Among us From the scorn that is reaped The hand that sows Depravation To come From the scorn that is reaped The hand that sows Desperation To come Only fear assures The will to collapse By itself Through this order alone New life is now sworn
6.
The dark is closing in It helps me to see White eyes coming near Of which I dread The words of dead men I have nothing else To cure me now Godlike They are Can’t run away Hear my cries They are for you For you The dark has arrived Unable to see I find myself awake Please let it end
7.
No Horizon 05:28
I wait Buried in the mire Of this life Fading See Was it a shadow By my side Or reflection? Open up my eyes Hoping, seeking Open up my eyes Dying glow I see your face Heal me and walk away Heal me and walk away Nightfall comes and there’s no horizon The dark Absorbs me Somehow, I remember Cast A shadow Close my eyes You return again Dying glow I still see your face
8.
Drawing near Towards the end Of the horizon To cast the stone This is a pathway That runs too long Like a dark road That drags on through In your wake Honor is stained A time to kill A time to heed No sorrow No mourning Dishonor A plague of virtue Can’t you feel What I feel? All sense is gone Your inner god Can’t you see? What I see? You’ve lost it all You’ve lost it all
9.
A Servant 04:42
Harsh light upon me But still I see The noise grows louder It’s you I still hear The crack before the shatter Sinking below the mire Every glimpse of life before me Tears from within No dreams Just destiny This is me now A servant It keeps me awake Through night and day No match, no resistance Desolation engulfs the path Now you show the way You show the way Wide awake This is me now You control my destiny
10.
Trace to vestige Creator destroyer Encompass the shroud Entombment of all From what may Mercy is dissolved Will you accept? Death feasts on everything Then you are nothing Will you face? Your ill-begotten host Then become dust What is dreamt of Now is foreseen By this you dread Never free What is real Sworn to believe Lying here To fade to grey Return to silence Return to dust Return to stillness Return to us Return to silence Return to dust Return to stillness Return to us The creator is the destroyer The last vestige of absolution The creator is the destroyer Mercy is now dissolved You return to Eternal rest Return to silence Return to dust You return to Eternal rest Return to silence Return to dust

about

The tenebrous metal collective DEATHWHITE emerge from the shadows with their new full-length album 'Grave Image.’ Neither retro in construction nor modern in its hue, DEATHWHITE mine a vein of intrepid metal echoing an earlier era with dark melodies, wistful vocals, and profound foreboding. 'Grave Image' is a heartfelt emotional bloodletting and poignant display from one of metal's most promising young bands.
