Marcelo Solitary Martyr is fresh air in the melodic doom genre, each one of the songs has its own magic. Totally recomended for fans of melancolic doom. Favorite track: Pressure.

Obstacle of Affliction Impressive follow up to their debut, Deathwhite crushes with excellent songwriting and execution.
To think when I was a sophomore I could barely figure out which textbooks were needed for which classes. Ought to mention, I spent the first two weeks of my second year of college attending the wrong lectures.

A year after the release of their well-received debut Ethereal EP, dark metal outfit Deathwhite has returned with the Solitary Martyr EP.

The product of increased focus on vocal melodies and hooks, Solitary Martyr displays a keener sense of depth and versatility than its predecessor. Recorded by Brette Ciammara at Studio 344, the production is more robust, as are the riffs, retaining a feel and flare akin to the bands that were so crucial inspiring Deathwhite in the first place.

Solitary Martyr will be self-released by the band in August of 2015. A special, limited edition version of the album will be made available on CD, with the aforementioned Ethereal EP tacked on as bonus tracks.

I never cared about symphonic metal at all. I do very much care about folk as well as progressive metal, and so I couldn't resist after reading the third exceptional AMG review for Wilderun in a row. 'Sleep...' has been on my radar for quite some time, being graced by one of the most beckoning cover arts I have ever seen.
